Full-time Job Summary:
Serves as liaison between company and customer to ensure that all products manufactured and shipped meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels. Assists in making sure internal quality controls are compliant with IATF and other automotive certification standards.
Essential Functions:
  • Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities such as PFMEA, Pre-Production Control Plans, Flow Diagrams and In-Process Inspection Sheets.
  • Interact with the Customer on overall quality strategy, GD&T reviews, checking fixture design reviews, documentation reviews, and PPAP activities
  • Strong knowledge of Customer requirements, specifications and systems to be able to provide technical and administrative support to the project.
  • Achieve completed, comprehensive checking fixtures from start to finish through concept phase, RFQs, design reviews, construction reviews, buyoffs and passing gage R&Rs.
  • Assist in the quality evaluation of pre-production parts/ assemblies, driving quality improvements through documented quality loops to achieve a satisfactory buyoff of tooling/ equipment.
  • Communicates customer dissatisfaction and concerns to the quality team in an expedient manner to resolve issues immediately (8D, problem solving abilities, 5 Why, ISHIKAWA Diagram).
  • Take part in Kaizen activities and efficiently utilize 6 Sigma tools such as DMAIC, DFSS and DMADV.
  • Participate in any
IATF 16949
audits related to the project as needed.
  • Complete successful project launch through strong handoff to Plant, support during launch, achieve fully approved PPAP status, managing engineering changes (ECN) and completion of open issues.
  • Assist in carrying out statistical studies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) , CpK and MSA.
  • Assist in implementation of quality monitoring software (QMS) in the plant.
  • Maintains continuous communication with Department Managers throughout the plant to ensure all systems are working properly.
  • Maintains continuous communication with vendors and customer to discuss quality issues, concerns and problems via computer system/customer portal.
  • Communicates customer dissatisfaction and concerns regarding manufacturing systems processes to Plant Management in an expedient manner to resolve issues immediately
  • Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Authorized to stop production when approved by Management
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety, Environmental, 6
S, and Production Information Boards Experience/Educational:
  • B.S. Degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
  • Prefer formal education in the following courses: Statistical Analysis, Precision Measurement and Process Capability Studies.
  • Prefer a minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing standards.
  • Background in Automotive Industry with a history of meeting with the customer and negotiating correction of issues and agreements.
