Job Description

The Impact You'll Make The Quality Engineering Manager leads the plant's quality initiatives by managing a team of Quality Engineers, Technicians, Inspector s to provide comprehensive quality support. This role oversees customer quality processes, including change management, and drives continuous improvement roadmaps to enhance key quality KPIs. The position is responsible for effectively leading crisis resolution, solving quality issues, implementing proactive preventive measures, and ensuring sustained reduction of customer complaints and defects. What You'll Be Doing Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians, providing quality support to the plant and Hydrostatics Division, including PPAP, change management, corrective/preventive actions, calibration, metrology programming, and cleanliness/clean room processes. Partner with factory leadership to ensure safe, sustainable products, meet customer and regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and achieve quality objectives Establish and maintain quality processes to enable effective decision making and operational excellence. Drive customer quality performance and satisfaction through proactive communication, customer visits, and alignment on expectations and KPIs. Lead and support cross-functional problem-solving teams using 8D methodology to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer complaints. Manage customer communication during crisis situations, ensuring immediate containment, corrective actions, and long-term resolution effectiveness. Develop and execute PPM reduction plans with customers and internal stakeholders, tracking progress to deliver sustained improvements. Participate in customer quality review meetings to proactively address current and emerging quality concerns. Manage customers change notifications and approval processes for key accounts. Represent the customer in New Product Development projects, ensuring customer-specific requirements are identified and integrated into deliverables. What We're Looking For Required (basic) qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution Strong background in a manufacturing environment, in quality or operations. Preferred qualifications Master's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Red X, Problem Solving Minimum 3 years combined experience in a leadership or supervisory role Knowledge of quality systems, including ISO and IATF standards Job Criteria Strong leadership and decision-making skills, especially during crisis resolution and escalation management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and quality tools/software. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, FMEA).
