Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector performs incoming, in-process, and final inspections of medical devices and components in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. This role uses calibrated measuring and test equipment to verify product conformity, documents results with precision, and works closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues in a clean, organized, and quiet manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform incoming inspections on medical devices and components to verify they meet documented specifications and quality requirements. Conduct in-process inspections during manufacturing to ensure products continue to meet dimensional, visual, and functional standards. Carry out final inspections of finished medical devices and components according to established procedures before release. Use calibrated equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to perform accurate dimensional checks. Perform detailed visual inspections to identify defects, cosmetic issues, or other non-conformances. Conduct functional tests as required to confirm that products operate as intended and meet performance criteria. Document inspection results clearly and accurately in quality records, ensuring full traceability of parts, lots, and inspection activities. Identify non-conformances and deviations from specifications, and record them in accordance with quality procedures. Initiate or support corrective actions to address quality issues, including containment, rework, or rejection of non-conforming product. Collaborate with production and quality teams to investigate and resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement. Follow established inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality control plans consistently. Maintain inspection tools and equipment in good working order, including verifying calibration status before use. Support cross-training efforts by learning additional inspection tasks and processes as needed. Adhere to all safety, quality, and documentation requirements within the facility. Essential Skills Experience performing inspections in a manufacturing or quality control environment, preferably involving medical devices or precision components. Ability to perform accurate dimensional measurements using micrometers and calipers. Proficiency in conducting visual inspections to identify defects and non-conformances. Basic understanding of quality control and quality assurance principles. Ability to follow established procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria consistently. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording inspection data and maintaining traceability. Ability to use calibrated inspection equipment and verify its suitability for use. Effective communication skills to collaborate with production and quality team members. Ability to work independently and manage inspection tasks within a first-shift schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience inspecting medical devices or regulated products is beneficial. Experience using micrometers and calipers is helpful; training can be provided for candidates with strong aptitude. Familiarity with quality records, non-conformance documentation, and basic corrective action processes is an advantage. Willingness to participate in cross-training to learn additional inspection tasks and processes. Comfort working with small components and precision measurements in a controlled environment. Work Environment This position operates in a clean, organized, and quiet manufacturing and inspection environment focused on medical devices and components. The role follows a flexible first-shift schedule, typically Monday through Friday from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Work involves regular use of calibrated inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other measuring and test equipment at inspection stations. The environment is designed to support careful, detailed work, with an emphasis on maintaining orderly workspaces, proper handling of components, and adherence to quality procedures throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
