Job Description
Quality Lab Technician Location:
Roselle, IL Shift:
2nd shift M-F (2pm-10:30pm) Why This Role Matters As a Quality Lab Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the products leaving production meet the highest quality standards. Your work directly impacts product performance, customer satisfaction, and overall manufacturing success. What You'll Do Perform hands-on lab testing on production batches (color, gloss, viscosity, and physical properties) Ensure all products meet quality standards before and during filling Evaluate results and recommend adjustments to bring products within spec Approve final fill checks and support production with real-time quality decisions Accurately document testing results, adjustments, and approvals Follow ISO procedures and quality protocols to maintain compliance Partner with production teams to pull samples and communicate results Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment Support continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency and quality What We're Looking For 1-2 years of QC lab experience (coatings, paints, or similar industry preferred) Experience with wet chemistry or hands-on lab testing Familiarity with testing color, gloss, viscosity, and physical properties Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures Basic math skills (percentages, calculations for adjustments) Ability to manage multiple tests or batches at once Comfortable working with hazardous materials in a controlled environment Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to ask questions and learn Nice to Have Experience in a manufacturing or production environment Knowledge of color evaluation in a QC setting Familiarity with RCRA or hazardous waste handling Exposure to quality improvement initiatives Work Environment ~90% lab / 10% production floor Hands-on work with standard QC lab equipment Fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork What You'll Get Opportunity to work in a stable, well-established manufacturing environment Supportive, team-oriented culture with strong leadership Exposure to both lab and production operations (great for career growth) Competitive benefits, including: Retirement plan contributions Generous PTO Optional overtime opportunities during peak periods Why Join Us? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roselle, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
