Job Title:
Quality Manager Job Description This hands-on Quality Manager role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of quality for electronic components through inspections, audits, and continuous process improvement. The position oversees internal and external quality activities, supports root cause analysis, and collaborates closely with customers and vendors to resolve quality issues and enhance overall product reliability. Responsibilities Perform hands-on quality checks of electronic components, including detailed visual and mechanical inspections and testing. Plan, conduct, and support internal and external quality audits in alignment with applicable quality standards. Lead and participate in root cause analysis to identify, document, and resolve quality issues in a structured and timely manner. Drive process improvements within quality operations to increase efficiency, reduce defects, and enhance product reliability. Coordinate quality-related communication and activities with customers to address concerns, manage nonconformances, and support corrective actions. Collaborate with vendors to ensure incoming materials and components meet required quality specifications and standards. Apply and maintain compliance with AS9100, AS9102, ISO, and IPC standards in day-to-day quality activities. Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation. Participate in or support formal quality audits, including preparation of documentation, records, and evidence of compliance. Work closely with leadership to report on quality performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Essential Skills Proven experience in electronics quality supervision or quality management, with direct responsibility for quality activities. Hands-on experience in electronics quality within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Strong background in quality management and quality engineering practices for electronic components. Practical experience performing internal and external quality audits. Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies to investigate and resolve quality issues. Working knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 quality standards. Familiarity with ISO quality standards relevant to electronics and manufacturing. Experience applying IPC standards in inspection and quality control of electronic components. Ability to conduct detailed visual and mechanical inspections and testing of electronic components. Strong coordination and communication skills for working with both customers and vendors on quality matters. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a quality-focused leadership role within electronics manufacturing or distribution. Experience participating in or supporting formal quality auditing processes. Exposure to a warehouse or distribution environment related to electronic components. Ability to interpret and apply multiple quality standards (AS9100, AS9102, ISO, IPC) in daily operations. Comfort working in a growing organization where processes and teams are evolving.
