About the Opportunity Our client is a growing precision CNC machining and assembly organization supporting high-performance, regulated industries. Their work centers on complex components, tight tolerances, and consistent execution. Quality is a core part of the operation-not just a support function-driving how products are built, inspected, and delivered. They are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead their quality function while remaining actively engaged on the shop floor. Position Overview This is a working leadership role, not a desk-only position. The Quality Manager will be responsible for leading the quality system, supporting inspection activities, and partnering closely with operations to ensure compliance, precision, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical inspection expertise within precision machining environments, along with the ability to lead people, enforce standards, and drive accountability. Key Responsibilities Inspection Leadership & Technical Support Lead first article, in-process, and final inspection activities across machining and assembly Perform and support complex mechanical inspections using manual metrology tools and CMM equipment Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications to ensure compliance Serve as the technical escalation point for inspection and measurement issues Quality Systems & Compliance Maintain and improve the
AS9100 / ISO 9001
quality management system (training provided) Ensure documentation, procedures, and records align with internal and customer requirements Support audits and lead corrective action efforts through closure Customer & Quality Performance Act as the primary quality liaison for customer concerns and escalations Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action initiatives Drive improvements in first-pass yield, scrap reduction, and on-time delivery performance Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop quality inspectors and support personnel Establish clear expectations for inspection standards and accountability Build a culture centered on precision, ownership, and continuous improvement Continuous Improvement & Operations Partnership Analyze quality data to identify trends and drive improvement initiatives Partner with manufacturing teams to improve process capability and inspectability Support machining and assembly process improvements on the floor Qualifications 10+ years of quality experience in a precision machining environment Strong hands-on background in mechanical inspection Deep understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation Experience with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques CMM experience strongly preferred (operation and/or programming) Experience with tight tolerance machined components required Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or
ISO 9001
quality systems (Preferred, not required) Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment Strong problem-solving, communication, and accountability skills What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out This is a highly hands-on leadership role.
