Job Description

Veteran-owned and operated, JL Billet is a leading manufacturer in the firearms industry. We believe in Quality through Precision and stand by our products 100%. We're looking for an experienced Quality Manager with a strong technical background, motivated outlook, and great work ethic. Before applying, we require the following: MUST be a US Citizen or permanent resident (ITAR compliance) MUST be able to pass FBI/DOJ Background check MUST have at least 8 years of experience inspecting CNC metal machined products, this includes measuring/validating CMM results Expert in GD&T and
ASME Y14.5
Proven experience as a QC Manager or Quality Manager within a CNC manufacturing company Ability to read and understand parts drawings, ability to use and accurately measure parts with inspection tools (CMM, micrometers, height gages, indicators, calipers, comparator). This role is highly collaborative with production and engineering teams, focusing on solving day-to-day quality challenges on the shop floor. The Quality Manager ensures standards are implemented and maintained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review contracts, purchase orders, and customer specifications to ensure quality requirements are integrated into manufacturing processes. Act as liaison with customers and suppliers to resolve complaints, coordinate audits, and drive corrective actions. Mentor junior engineers and inspectors in practical problem-solving and quality tools. Champion the creation and implementation of quality-related policies and procedures. Perform dimensional inspection on machined products using mechanical inspection tools (calipers / micrometers / height gages / pin and thread gages) or CMM when applicable Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, process capability, and repeatability Utilize ProShop ERP to manage and maintain quality-related records, including inspection results, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and customer documentation Ensure inspection plans, routings, and quality checkpoints are accurately reflected in ProShop and aligned with current manufacturing processes Work with production, engineering, and planning teams to ensure ProShop data is accurate, up to date, and supports efficient, repeatable manufacturing Maintain and oversee inspection tool calibration programs , ensuring all measurement equipment is calibrated, in tolerance, and compliant with internal and customer requirements Ensure calibration records are accurately maintained and traceable within ProShop, including gage status, calibration intervals, and certification documentation Bonus Experience (Preferred, Not Required) Experience in firearm manufacturing or regulated defense-related machining environments Hands-on experience using ProShop ERP in a CNC manufacturing setting, particularly for quality, inspection, and traceability workflows Experience programming, operating, or validating Calypso CMM software Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100D quality management systems
