Job Description

Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and improving product quality throughout the manufacturing process. This position is responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance procedures, conducting inspections and audits, analyzing data for trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Salary Range:
 $53,664-$80,496
Key Responsibilities:
Create, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and control plans to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards. Perform regular audits of production processes, product inspections, and documentation reviews to identify potential quality concerns or non-conformances. Analyze product quality data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs); prepare reports and make recommendations for corrective and preventive actions. Work with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to investigate and resolve quality issues. Lead or support corrective action efforts. Provide training to staff on quality procedures and expectations; ensure all team members understand quality standards and follow proper practices. Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards (e.g., ISO/TS), and regulatory requirements. Investigate quality problems using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams) and drive effective corrective action plans. Identify and lead initiatives to reduce scrap, minimize variation, improve yield, and enhance overall product and process quality.
Education and Experience:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or related technical field preferred 3+ years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment
Essential Skills:
Strong knowledge of quality systems, tools, and standards (ISO 9001, TS16949, etc.) Experience with quality audits, inspection methods, and statistical process control (SPC) Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality data software (e.g., Minitab, IQS) Effective communication skills with ability to work collaboratively across departments Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills Familiarity with GD&T, blueprints, and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk in a manufacturing environment for extended periods Able to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
