Quality Technician - Electronic Manufacturing Molex life insurance, parental leave United States, Pennsylvania, Lake City May 14, 2026 Your Job We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to ensure that electronic assemblies and components meet contract specifications, industry standards, and customer expectations. In this role you will perform inspections, collect and analyze quality data, and support corrective actions that keep production moving while protecting product integrity. Our Team You will join the Manufacturing Quality group that partners closely with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to deliver high-reliability electronic products. The team focuses on first-pass yield, defect prevention, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, traceability-driven environment. What You Will Do Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electronic components and assemblies using visual, dimensional, and functional tests to verify conformance to drawings, BOMs, and quality standards.
Execute First Article Inspections (FAI) and lot verifications, documenting results and maintaining traceability for serialization and lot codes.
Use inspection tools (calipers, microscopes, solderability testers, multimeters) and test equipment (functional testers, ICTs, AOI/X-ray where applicable) to detect and document nonconformances.
Collect, record, and analyze quality data (defect rates, yield, trend charts); escalate issues and support root-cause investigations using documented evidence.
Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), nonconformance reports (NCR), and disposition activities; verify effectiveness of implemented actions.
Maintain and audit ESD, cleanliness, and process control practices on the production floor; support calibration and equipment maintenance records.
Communicate inspection findings and quality metrics clearly to Operators, Engineers, and Supervisors; assist in training production staff on inspection requirements and defect avoidance. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certificate in electronics, quality, or related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on quality inspection experience in electronic manufacturing or PCB assembly environments.
Proficient in using standard inspection tools and test equipment (digital caliper, microscope, multimeter, solderability testers) and comfortable following written procedures and BOMs.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and component datasheets; familiarity with revision control and traceability requirements.
Basic computer skills: experience with MS Office (Excel) and experience entering inspection data into an MES/ERP or quality database. What Will Put You Ahead Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and practical experience applying them during inspections.
Experience with automated inspection systems (AOI, AXI/X-ray, ICT) and interpreting their outputs.
Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar ASQ/industry certification, or training in SPC/Minitab.
Experience supporting ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management system audits and documentation.
Prior exposure to solder paste inspection, reflow profiling, and solder process control, or experience with RoHS/REACH compliance processes.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work safely in an ESD-controlled environment. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
