Radiation Oncology Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. In this role, you will administer radiation treatments prescribed by a radiation oncologist, ensure accurate patient positioning, and operate advanced radiation therapy equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality cancer care. Key Responsibilities Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients according to physician orders. Position patients accurately using immobilization devices and imaging guidance. Operate radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators. Review treatment plans and verify treatment parameters prior to therapy delivery. Monitor patients during treatment and report any adverse reactions or concerns. Maintain accurate patient treatment records and documentation. Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals. Follow all radiation safety procedures and regulatory guidelines. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding treatment procedures and potential side effects. Perform routine quality assurance and safety checks on radiation equipment. Perform CT and /or HDR simulations as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. Responsible for remaining current with scope of practice defined by your credentialing and professional licensing organizations and/ or adhere to the scope of practice defined in your job description. Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)). State licensure as required. Current BLS certification preferred. Previous clinical experience in radiation oncology preferred but not required. Required Skills Strong knowledge of radiation therapy techniques and safety protocols Excellent patient care and communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to operate complex radiation therapy equipment Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment Work Environment Outpatient cancer treatment center Standing for extended periods and assisting patients with positioning Following strict radiation safety standards Varian TrueBeam GE simulator Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary Flexible schedulingPay:
