Job Description

Overview We seek a Radiologic Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services for a Health Care Facility is located in Dulce, New Mexico. The goal is to support high-quality patient care through accurate and efficient radiologic imaging.
Work Schedule :
The Rad Tech shall work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour workday that includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Period of Performance:
TBD 2026-TBD 2027.
Plus, five (5) year option periods to extend contract.
Qualifications:
Education:
Degree from an accredited school for Radiology Technology.
Licensing :
Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) license or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of experience with basic X-ray or trauma work is often required.
Certifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory.
Professional Development :
Degree or diploma from a medical school and completion of a family medicine residency. Must have a resume that provides experience that equips the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Duties:
General:
The Registered Radiological Technologist shall provide digital radiological examinations and bone density scans per request by medical staff for use in clinical diagnosis, patient screening, monitoring patient status and other authorized purposes. The Radiological Technologist/Lab Assistant shall initiate appropriate action in emergent radiological situations. This position deals directly with general public from neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent to adult patients. Independently makes routine digitalized studies of the neck, trunk, and extremities, which are used medical diagnosis and interpret by medical providers to locate injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions or lesions with the body. Duties include receiving requests and/or instructions for Radiological procedures. Interpreting requests and/or instructions of physicians for procedures, securing confidence and cooperation of patients during examination procedures, positioning or placing the patient in the correct positions to obtain the views requested. (Positioning may include immobilizing the patient with straps, sandbags or cushions and shielding the patient from excess radiation with protective devices such as lead shields.) Is responsible for determining the technical factors (by referring to guidelines and calculating the correct exposure factors of the time, distance, kilo-voltage, and milliamperage), setting the controls and operating radiographic equipment in order that the portion of the body specified receives the correct calculated exposure. This may require contact with other radiological professionals. Is responsible for ensuring that radiographs are read and interpreted by a certified radiologist and that reports are delivered to the appropriate provider in a timely manner. Radiology Thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices and techniques include concepts of accumulated dosage and genetic changes, effects of radiation on living organisms, and the effects of X-ray technique on patient and operator exposure to assure that adequate safeguards are maintained. recognize when changes of equipment or procedures might result in increased exposures and recommend methods to prevent such exposure. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology such as the location, appearance, and function of the various major systems, e.g., the location, appearance and function of various major systems, especially the urinary, digestive, and respiratory systems. Skill in using this knowledge to interpret accurately the examination request and understand the functioning and relationship of the various organs of the system; to select the best procedures to emphasize any aspects of particular interest to the doctor; and to identify the organs appearing on the film and the various stages of the examination to judge the acceptability of the radiograph for diagnostic use. Knowledge of basic physics, including the concepts of energy, electric power and types of electrical circuits, the construction, function, and operating limitations of various types of X-ray tubes, and the properties of Xrays, to understand the operation of X-ray equipment, monitor the equipment for proper operation, modify standard procedures to accommodate to new equipment or examination, and determine when maintenance or repair of equipment is needed. Laboratory Must have knowledge of basic phlebotomy skills and universal precautions. Knowledge of physiology sufficient to understand incompatible or erroneous laboratory results, such as those that may be generated by improper specimen samples. Must have knowledge of basic and commonly used technology and procedures for performing phlebotomy services. General knowledge of methods used in processing biological specimens, separation of blood and proper preparation for sending specimens to a referral laboratory. Must have mathematical, verbal and computer skills. Excellent customer relation skills and the willingness and desire to learn. Ability to accomplish the equality and quantity of work expected within set limits of cost and time.
Pay:
$41.82 - $50.36 per hour
