  • $70,000 a year
  • Full-time Ranch Manager — Private Estate Cornersville, Tennessee About the Property A 900-acre private ranch in Cornersville, Tennessee, with rolling hills, a manicured 100-acre front section, and several miles of hiking trails.
The property includes horses, sheep, goats, chickens, and a large aviary housing approximately eight parrots. Amenities include a swimming pool, a wine house and cellar, a pickleball court, a four-bedroom barn apartment, two guest cabins, and a large office set in a converted hayloft. The ranch is a private estate — not a rental — that regularly hosts the owner's friends and family. Facilities are expected to look guest-ready at all times. About the Role This is a hands-on, working Ranch Manager position. The right person is equally comfortable on a mower or chainsaw and at the front of a team. We're looking for someone who leads from the front, sets the standard for the work by doing it, and takes personal pride in keeping every corner of the property exceptional. Key Responsibilities Daily Operations Run day-to-day operations across grounds, buildings, animals, and amenities. Work alongside staff on the daily tasks — weed eating, mowing, clearing fallen trees from trails, minor repairs, and general upkeep. Walk the property regularly and get ahead of issues before they become problems. Team Leadership Supervise the housekeeper, the full-time bush-hog operator, and three groundskeepers. Set daily and weekly priorities, assign tasks, and hold the team to a high standard. Coordinate with the on-site chef around guest visits and events. Animal Care Ensure attentive, consistent care of the horses, sheep, goats, chickens, and parrots. Facilities and Amenities Maintain the pool to a clean, guest-ready standard. Keep all buildings — barn apartment, cabins, wine house, office, and outbuildings — clean, organized, and in good repair. Maintain the pickleball court and recreational amenities. Keep the hiking trail network clear and walkable. Projects and Repairs Manage ongoing improvement projects, repairs, and seasonal work. Source vendors, get bids, and oversee contractors when outside expertise is required. Maintain organized records of work orders, maintenance schedules, and project status. Guest Hospitality Be present and available when guests are on the property. Anticipate guest needs and coordinate seamlessly with the chef and housekeeper. Uphold the warm, polished atmosphere the owner expects for friends and family. Qualifications Demonstrated experience managing a large private estate, ranch, or similar multi-acre property. Proven ability to lead and develop a small team of skilled workers. Strong mechanical aptitude; comfort operating tractors, mowers, chainsaws, ATVs, and standard maintenance equipment. Experience with — or genuine interest in — animal husbandry; familiarity with horses preferred; willingness to learn proper parrot care required. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and seasonal demands. Strong people skills and a natural service orientation for guest interactions. Self-starter with the work ethic to lead from the front. Schedule and Availability Full-time position. Weekend availability is required, as guests are most often on property on weekends. The workload flexes with the rhythm of the ranch — busier with guests present, lighter during quieter stretches. Living Arrangement A furnished one-bedroom on-site apartment is available to the Ranch Manager who wishes to live on the property. Living on-site is offered as a benefit, not a requirement. Compensation Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus the optional on-site housing benefit
