  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, experienced Ranch Manager to oversee daily operations of a cow/calf operation in western South Dakota.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong livestock management skills, mechanical ability, and the willingness to work in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining herd health, land stewardship, and equipment care.
Key Responsibilities:
Feed, monitor, and manage the health and wellbeing of a cow/calf herd Assist with calving, doctoring, vaccinations, and herd health protocols Cut, rake, and bale hay Build, repair, and maintain fencing Operate and maintain ranch equipment and machinery Monitor pasture conditions and assist with grazing machinery Keep accurate records related to herd health, feed, and production Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
Qualifications:
Proven experience in ranching or livestock management, preferably in a cow/calf operation Strong knowledge of cattle health, nutrition, and handling practices Ability to operate farm and ranch equipment safely and efficiently Skilled in fencing and general ranch maintenance Mechanically inclined with basic equipment repair skills Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently Willingness to work long hours during peak seasons and in varying weather conditions.
