Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide care and support to a young adult who has moderate autism in his Catonsville home. This role, under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst, will require creating a structured schedule, incorporating Adult Daily Living Skills, Community involvement, continuing academic skills while implementing his behavioral interventions. There are several shifts available. There is a shift Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm. Another shift is weekend hours (occasional Fri/Sat evenings, Saturday/Sunday during day 10am-6pm) Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation, promoting independence and dignity. Implement behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies to support positive behavior management and skill development. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and follow personalized care plans tailored to each individual's needs. Collect, document, and maintain accurate data on behavioral progress, medical records, and service delivery using HIPAA-compliant procedures. Support clients during educational activities by applying special education principles and teaching strategies suited to their developmental level. Monitor health status, administer medication if trained and authorized, and ensure safety during all interactions. Maintain detailed medical documentation, including care plans, behavioral reports, and progress notes in accordance with medical terminology standards. Requirements Bachelors Degree is preferred RBT/Special Education experience in autism. ABA experience is a bonus Required to be trained in CPR/First Aid Knowledge of behavior management strategies Current auto insurance/valid driver's license Clear background check/fingerprinting and references Strong interpersonal skills Must be active - this young man loves to be in the community! Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
