R&D Chef

Job Summary We are looking for a passionate and innovative R&D Chef to join our food development team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of creating and refining new food products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and nutrition. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop exciting recipes, optimize food processing techniques, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a food enthusiast with strong scientific research skills and a deep understanding of the food industry's regulatory landscape. Responsibilities Lead research and development projects focused on new product formulations, packaging solutions, and process improvements in line with industry standards. Conduct microbiological, biochemical, and sensory analysis to evaluate product quality and safety. Ensure all products comply with FDA regulations, HACCP protocols, GFSI standards, and other relevant food safety systems such as HARPC and CGMP. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to scale up prototypes from laboratory to production while maintaining product integrity. Collect and analyze data related to product performance, shelf life, and consumer acceptance to inform decision-making. Perform root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions within quality management systems. Support sanitation practices and ensure adherence to food safety protocols throughout the development process. Skills Extensive laboratory experience in microbiology, biochemistry, or related scientific research fields within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food processing techniques, packaging technologies, and food safety regulations including FDA guidelines and HACCP principles. Proven experience in product development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Familiarity with quality systems such as GFSI certification programs and GMP standards. Excellent analysis skills for data collection, interpretation, and problem-solving related to food production issues. Ability to work collaboratively across departments including manufacturing, quality control, nutrition, and sanitation teams.
