Summary As the brand is growing, so is our team! Egglife Foods is looking for a talented Food Scientist to join our Research & Development team, reporting to the R D Manager and working closely with our Marketing & Operation teams. This position will be primarily responsible for providing technical leadership to continue to improve our current product portfolio & to drive development of new product categories from bench, to pilot scale up, and through full commercialization. A roll-up-your-sleeves type of person with a can-do attitude who embraces challenge & enjoys solving problemsA critical thinker with a strong fundamental understanding of food safety, food chemistry and food manufacturingA naturally curious type of person who is not afraid to ask questions and is always open to learn from others & help others growSomeone with a passion for science that embraces disruptive ideas and has the ability to operate in ambiguous environmentsA very organized person who pays meticulous attention to detailA natural leader able to plan & manage complex projects while working with simplicity, urgency and agilityA friendly team-oriented individual with a strong sense of integrity who can develop solid relationships with internal and external partnersA foodie, passionate for clean label food who embraces optimism with a personal commitment to health & wellnessSomeone who takes pride in the job and is eager to help shape our young company Essential job functions Working with guidance and support from the Vice President of R D and the R D Manager but with expected autonomy you will: Provide technical leadership to develop new products & new product categories from bench to pilot scale up, and through full commercializationWork cross-functionally to support continuous improvement and optimization initiatives of current products and manufacturing linesDevelop testing methods and data analysis tools to help build in-depth understanding of products, ingredients, processing conditions and equipment used in egglife operationsSupport creation of new processes and procedures as the company growsProvide guidance and training to laboratory technicians, new food scientists and other co-workers on experimental design, testing protocols, operation of equipment/instruments, and other as neededThink critically, balance multiple tasks, and be flexible wearing whatever hat is needed to support cross-functional teams and help meet company goalsContribute to our knowledge base, thought leadership, and company culture through your unique character and skills Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Chemical/Biological Systems Engineering required. Master's Degree preferred.2+ years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, food product development, laboratory and/or pilot plant settingsExperience in any of the following strongly preferred: Food safety•background in natural antimicrobials or

HACCP/PCQI

certifications are a strong plusFood engineering & continuous improvement Food packaging•background in flexible or modified atmosphere packaging are a strong plusFood product development•background in bakery, high protein/low carb or clean label foods are a strong plus Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organizationHighly collaborative with the ability to lead through influenceSelf-starter and intellectually curious.
