Reach Truck Operator

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently operating reach trucks and other heavy equipment to manage materials handling, order picking, and shipping and receiving operations. This role is vital in maintaining smooth warehouse workflows, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting overall distribution efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with warehouse management systems to excel in this fast-paced environment. Duties Safely operate reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse. Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to OSHA safety standards and proper heavy lifting techniques. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing goods against documentation. Handle materials with care, utilizing appropriate equipment such as pickers and clamp trucks for delicate or specialized items. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is inspected regularly for mechanical issues. Support warehouse supervision by following operational procedures related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Participate in inventory counts, stock replenishment, and cycle counting activities as required. Comply with all safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation, including OSHA guidelines, to promote a safe working environment. Experience Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts, crane equipment, and other heavy machinery within a warehouse or construction setting. Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes including order picking, shipping & receiving, and load & unload operations. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and materials handling tools. Prior experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is advantageous. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on heavy equipment. Understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and extended periods of standing or operating machinery. Background in construction or logistics industries is a plus for understanding complex operational environments.
