In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating reach trucks and other heavy equipment to manage materials handling, order picking, and warehouse distribution tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, safety awareness, and experience in warehouse management systems. Your expertise will ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations, accurate inventory control, and the safe movement of goods within a fast-paced environment. Duties Operate reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials safely within the warehouse. Perform order picking using reach trucks and other equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure machinery remains in optimal working condition. Support warehouse management system (WMS) data entry for inventory tracking, order processing, and stock replenishment. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate materials handling activities and optimize storage space. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards by following proper lifting techniques and operating heavy equipment responsibly. Assist in warehouse distribution tasks by organizing stock locations and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Handle heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts. Participate in regular safety training sessions focused on equipment operation and hazard prevention. Skills Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts (including lift trucks), clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks in a warehouse setting. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and maintenance is highly desirable. Familiarity with OSHA regulations concerning heavy equipment operation and workplace safety. Excellent materials handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely. Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying quantities during order picking and inventory management. Experience in shipping & receiving processes along with order fulfillment procedures. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail. Broad knowledge of warehouse distribution practices and materials handling techniques.
