Job Description

Overview:
Responsible for coordinating accurate Receiving functions and documents along with timely delivery of material to storage locations or through Cross Dock to Shipping/Production. Maintains monthly reports of Receipt capacity along with relative documents for record keeping. Oversees the Receiving staff.
Principle Accountabilities:
Responsible for direct day-to-day Management for dept activities Leads a team of Receiving Clerks and Supervises their workings with delegation of workload Maintaining and overseeing the records of all received goods and supplies Supervising the arrangement of consignments in the warehouse (if necessary) Compare identifying information and counts, weights or measures of items from incoming shipments to verify information against Bills of Lading, Invoices, Packing Lists or other records Handling paperwork involved in order receipts and may use hand-held scanners to read bar codes on incoming products or by hand-entering this information into computers Unpacks and examines incoming shipments Rejects damaged items and records shortages where applicable Addresses damages or shortages to the Claims dept for proper routing May operate trucks to move or hoist shipments from one staging area to another location Keeps Plant Manager informed of workload and of any problems Stage goods for stocking by warehouse zones Support cycle counting activities based on team availability Maintains appropriate security at dock doors Creates & documents various departmental supply needs Responsible to properly train back up personnel (cross functionality) Assists the Operations Manager in the performance appraisal of other
Receiving Clerks Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent from an accredited institution Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Operate Forklift and electric hand truck (Transportation Equipment)
Competencies:
Good decision-making abilities and leadership with motivational skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to efficiently network and coordinate processes Required to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel and lift cumbersome and/or heavy objects
