Job Description
We're seeking a detail-oriented Radiology Receptionist/Secretary to support our Imaging Department through exceptional clerical, reception, and patient-service functions. In this role, you'll help ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and timely communication across the department. Your work directly supports high-quality imaging services and a positive patient experience. What You'll Do Patient Reception & Scheduling Support
- Check in scheduled, unscheduled, and pre-surgery patients to support efficient workflow
- Provide patients with exam preparation instructions to ensure readiness
- Notify physician offices of cancellations or no-shows to maintain scheduling accuracy
- Verify and match physician/practitioner orders for accuracy and compliance Patient Experience & Communication
- Keep patients and families informed of wait times and exam status
- Evaluate waiting areas and offer assistance to those who need help
- Direct, screen, and manage incoming phone calls and messages
- Notify imaging staff when patients are checked in or ready Department Operations & Coordination
- Print exam orders and labels to support daily operations
- Ensure proper distribution of exam results to physicians and practitioners
- Prepare demographic corrections and related documentation
- Coordinate outgoing mail, packages, and departmental errands Systems & Administrative Support
- Accurately complete information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Scan documents into the correct EMR or RIS locations
- Operate office equipment and report service needs
- Monitor and order office supply inventory Imaging Records & Compliance
- Prepare image release forms and burn CDs or print films per policy
- Provide accurate information to internal and external offices
