Job Description

The Recovery Management Checkup (RMC) Program is a Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (DMHAS) funded initiative implemented by Prevention is Key to serve counties in northern New Jersey (Passaic, Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Warren, Sussex and Morris). The program aims to enhance recovery support services for clients who have completed their treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) within the state of New Jersey. The primary objective of the RMC program is to ensure ongoing support and identify potential areas where additional interventions or community resources may be needed by proactively addressing client issues and preventing recurrence of use, and when necessary, ensuring a swift return to treatment. The RMC program will engage clients monthly after their discharge from SUD treatment. (we can speak with/meet with individuals based on their needs and desire for frequency of contact). These engagements can occur through face-to-face meetings (either in-person or virtually), telephone conversations, or other communication avenues such as text messaging or chat platforms. By utilizing these diverse channels, we seek to provide continuous support, for a minimum of nine months, to individuals in recovery.
General Summary :
The RMC Project Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation of the RMC project plan including the provision and compliance with all grant requirements. As a vital member of our team, you will drive program development and foster partnerships that amplify our mission to promote healthier, resilient communities. Your leadership will inspire positive change and ensure the successful delivery of recovery services that truly make a difference.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations Management Mobilize resources within, and outside of, the recovery community to increase the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery support from substance abuse and addiction Ensure that all project services meet or exceed the expectations of the agency and those receiving them. Enhance, expand, and delivery of, recovery Management Check-UP services as well as promotion of, and education about recovery. Monitor service delivery to ensure quality, consistency, and participant-centered care that supports long-term recovery outcomes. Coordinate internal and external resources to strengthen recovery support networks and reduce barriers to sustained engagement Oversee Project staff and interns. Program Implementation and Management Implement the RMC project according to set goals and objectives. Ensure all program activities—including outreach, engagement, assessment, follow-up, and re-linkage—are conducted in alignment with RMC protocols Track participant outcomes and program performance metrics to support continuous quality improvement efforts Ensure compliance with all grant requirements including but not limited to reporting and budget. Participant Engagement and Recovery Support Promote sustained participant engagement through assertive outreach, motivational strategies, and individualized recovery planning. Ensure that services reflect trauma-informed, motivational interviewing, mental health first aid and are culturally competent, and person-centered. Community Relations/Advocacy Communicate with key stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, decision makers, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization and project.
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in psychology, counseling, social science, education, health sciences or other appropriate area. Certification as a CPS, CPRS, LSW, CADC, or LCADC or working toward preferred. Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively. Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting to evaluate program effectiveness is a plus. Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing required. Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
