Job Description

PART TIME 24-32 HRS/WEEK
The Director of Resident Engagement (RECREATION & ACTIVITIES
PROGRAMS
) is responsible for creating and implementing recreation programs and activities designed to promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of all residents per organizational policy & procedure. This multifaceted position primarily focuses on fostering meaningful connections, ensuring resident engagement, and supporting their overall experience. The Director of Resident Engagement oversees the Resident Engagement Coordinators and volunteers, including providing training, setting job responsibilities and expectations, managing employee schedules & assignments, and evaluating employee performance. Job Responsibilities & Duties Responsible for planning, implementation, and evaluation of an overall activity program per organizational policy & procedure. Participates in Resident Care Plan conferences with the IDT by establishing individual activity problem identifications, approaches, and goals. Actively participates in these activities to encourage engagement and social interaction among residents. Establishes and maintains strong, personal relationships with residents. Listens attentively to their needs, interests, and concerns, fostering an environment where they feel heard and valued. Cultivates a sense of trust and familiarity, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Builds rapport and maintains a visible presence in the facility, interacting with residents on a regular basis. Involves residents' families in the activity program through special family/resident events and general interaction with family members. Provides quality and empathetic care for older adults with Alzheimer's type dementia, confusion, or other limiting disabilities. Stays current with resident conditions and changes. Prepares for and implements daily activities-group and/or individual. Reviews goals and progress notes. Ensures the complete & accurate documentation and record maintenance of the following: Daily attendance and participation of residents at planned and individual activities. Prepare participation calendars and 1:1 charting for Jaffa Gate. Routine progress notes on each resident. Activity assessment of each resident upon admission. Monthly progress notes. Monthly Activity calendar. Routine review of activity assessment of each resident. Monthly Resident Council Meeting minutes, concerns and disbursement to appropriate managers. Coaches and mentors staff as needed.
