We're looking for fun, creative, and energetic Recreation Aides to join our Summer Camp team for an unforgettable 7-week adventure. Lead exciting activities like arts & crafts, sports, team games, and creative projects Turn everyday moments into fun learning experiences Supervise and engage campers in a safe and inclusive environment Bring your classroom management skills to a more relaxed, outdoor setting Help plan special events, theme days, and camp-wide activities Be a positive role model and create lasting memories for campersWe're Looking For:
Teachers, substitutes, or education majors (highly encouraged to apply!) Requires non-standard or rotating shift work. The primary schedule for the Summer Programs will be Monday - Friday, between the hours of 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, not to exceed 29 hours per week. Mandatory training for the Summer Program will be Tuesday, May 26-May 29.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years of age and moderate experience in youth or adult recreation or educational programs.SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
CPR/First Aid Certification issued by a nationally recognized certifying agency at hire. (The Parks and Recreation Dept. will train if the candidate does not possess at hire) Current or former teacher strongly preferred Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for the position. Valid Driver License of appropriate class based on assignment. Applicants for employment opportunities should be aware of the Lake Havasu City policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol. These policies have not been altered by the passage of Proposition 207. The use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the City's Drug-Free Workplace Policy. All positions within the City are required to submit to a pre-employment drug test. A positive result for drugs tested under the policy, including recreational marijuana, may be grounds for withdrawal of an offer of employment. The City reserves the right to consider only the most highly qualified applicants. The succeeding examination processes may be required: training and experience, testing, panel interview, employment eligibility verification (EEV) requirements, personnel evaluation profile (PEP), polygraph test, background investigation, and alcohol/drug screening test. Lake Havasu City complies with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 and the Department of Transportation Drug Testing Program. Drug and alcohol testing is conducted under the authority of City policy and the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991.
