- Temporary, Part-time Opportunity Description Seattle Central College is looking to hire a part-time Reference Assistant at the Broadway Edison library.

What you will be working on: Provides welcoming, effective, and timely research desk service; Assists students with recurring quick information and routine reference questions on general subjects and in the use of information tools (e.g., print and online reference books, online catalog, periodical databases, Web, etc.) Explains library procedures, rules, and service policy Refers students to appropriate librarians or technicians when necessary. Under the direction of a librarian, provides general or subject-specific library instruction to classes. Create instructional tools, including handouts, research guides (using LibGuides), and Canvas modules. May assist with circulation service, acquisitions tasks, shelving reference materials, and other tasks as assigned. What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience) Current enrollment in a graduate program in Library and Information Science. Interest in learning about community college and/or academic librarianship. Proficiency in using standard office productivity applications, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive and effective relationships. Demonstrated commitment to promote equitable access and service to a diverse community.
