Job Description

Job Details:
This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Under general supervision the Powerhouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating and repairing all equipment associated with the Engine Room.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to performing preventative maintenance (PM's) and repairs on refrigeration equipment like air compressors, HVAC, MAUS, cooling coils, boilers/steam and the potable water system and temping carcasses to ensure temperature specifications are met. Conduct rounds to monitor and document readings for operational purposes. Must be able to read and understand manuals, scheduling sheets and complete reports as needed. Must be able to become certified in Lock-Out/Tag Out, Fall Protection and Confined Space Entry. Must be able and willing to use a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and air purified respirators (APR).
SCBA/APR
usage requires clean-shaven face. Must be able to become a certified member of the plant's HAZMAT team. Must be able to work varied hours and shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime as required. Must be willing and able to work in extreme hot and cold environments, with seasonal winter temperatures below zero and summer temperatures up to 110 degrees. Must be willing and able to lift 60 lbs. occasionally. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED from an accredit institution is required. Must have 1 years' experience and or education in at least two of the following General Maintenance related areas; Mechanical troubleshooting, Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting, Hydraulic troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting and Navigation, Welding/Fabrication, AC/DC Control Wiring, Motor Control, 3 Phase Wiring, Plumbing, Conveyor Maintenance, Hydraulics, Pneumatic systems or HVACC.
Other Hiring Criteria:
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in Industrial Maintenance.
