Job Description

The Liquid Tanker and Pneumatic Tanker Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of liquid and dry bulk materials, such as petroleum products, chemicals, cement, sand, and other specialized cargo. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Drivers will operate specialized liquid trailers and pneumatic trailers equipped for secure loading and unloading.
Key Responsibilities:
    Safe Driving:
    Operate tanker and pneumatic trucks in compliance with DOT, EPA, and company regulations.
      Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections:
      Check vehicle systems, tires, brakes, lights, and tank integrity before and after each trip.
        Loading & Unloading:
          Liquid Tanker:
          Use hoses, pumps, and valves for liquid transfer.
            Pneumatic:
            Utilize compressed air systems to load/unload dry bulk materials through sealed hatches and piping.
              Cargo Management:
              Monitor gauges, pressure levels, and ensure proper sealing to prevent leaks or contamination.
                Documentation:
                Maintain accurate logs of mileage, hours of service, cargo details, and inspection reports.
                  Safety Compliance:
                  Follow HAZMAT protocols, spill response procedures, and use PPE during operations.
                    Communication:
                    Coordinate with dispatchers, customers, and team members for timely deliveries.
                      Equipment Maintenance:
                      Keep trucks clean and perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., fluid checks, tire pressure).
                        Regulatory Adherence:
                        Comply with federal, state, and local transportation laws, including hazardous materials regulations.
                        Qualifications:
                          Education:
                          • High school diploma or GED.
                          Licensing:
                          • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement
                          • HazMat Endorsement preferred.
                          • Pneumatic experience preferred.
                          Experience:
                          • Minimum 1year of commercial driving experience (preferred).
                          • Prior tanker or pneumatic hauling experience is a plus.
                          Skills:
                          • Knowledge of DOT regulations and pneumatic systems.
                          • Ability to operate pumps, valves, and pneumatic blowers safely.
                          • Strong attention to detail and time management.
                          Physical Requirements:
                          • Ability to lift heavy hoses, climb ladders, and work in outdoor conditions. Working Conditions
                          • Long hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
                          • Exposure to hazardous materials (with proper safety gear).
                          • Regional or OTR routes; home time varies by position.
