Regional Planner 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Amherst, WI 54406 Full-time BISON Transport USA 452 reviews Full-time Position Overview The Regional Planner is accountable for coordinating loads, trucks, and trailers to satisfy the needs of clients, drivers, and the company. A key role of the Regional Planner is to accurately predict availability and potential of assets in the best interest of the company. They must solve problems, realize opportunities, and communicate in a thorough and timely fashion with all coworkers.
Continental Schedule:
Rotating Schedule Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Week 2 -Wednesday and Thursday Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Planning:
Establish resource availability through analysis of the drivers, tractors and trailers in their region and interpret what restrictions and opportunities they present. The Regional Planner must take all relevant factors into consideration, from individual driver requirements, equipment restrictions and overall balance issues. Establish and forecast customer needs and demands. Accounts will involve monitoring, forecasting and servicing the clients' needs on a regular basis. The Load Planner is expected to have a thorough understanding of the priority of a given client, their volume, cycles, flexibility, urgency and additional opportunities they may hold. Assemble the overall strategy by taking all relevant information, developing a plan and communicating it in an effective and timely manner. Evaluating trucks and loads to "put together the puzzle" balancing drivers' availability/needs/home time with commitments to customers. Understand transportation and logistics principles as well as market conditions, hours of service laws, route planning, and other planning factors.General Customer Service Functions:
Contribute to an environment where customers can comfortably and confidently place orders for their transportation needs. This will include such tasks as: Monitor loads as required. Track key metrics in the assigned area to make sure targets are hit.Team Duties:
Support the Operations team to achieve department objectives. The Regional Planner must be aware of issues that go beyond their specific region and have a clear understanding of how their activity affects the entire network. Involvement in issues outside of their region or regular scope of duties is required. Working with dispatchers to make sure drivers have loads. Working closely with Customer Service to make sure customer deliveries are met and freight information is accurate.Trouble Shooting:
Identify trouble situations and constructively react to those that cannot by foreseen.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
