This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through outside sales efforts, developing new and existing group and local business accounts, conducting hotel site tours, and building relationships within the local business community. The Regional Sales Manager will also support group servicing while guests are on property, assist with forecasting and promotional initiatives, and maintain regular communication with each property's General Manager. This position requires a flexible schedule, including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Solicit, negotiate, and secure new and repeat business opportunities. Generate room night sales through outside sales calls, telemarketing, networking, and site tours. Meet or exceed budgeted RevPAR goals for assigned hotels. Assist General Managers in developing annual sales and marketing plans tailored to each property's market position and strengths. Forecast occupancy trends and adjust sales strategies to maximize revenue opportunities. Participate in weekly revenue meetings for each hotel. Meet regularly with General Managers to review upcoming groups, LNR accounts, need dates, and sales initiatives. Ensure hotel teams, particularly front desk staff, are informed of upcoming groups, key accounts, and booking details.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of hotel sales experience preferred; experience with Marriott, Hilton, Choice, or IHG brands is a plus. Previous experience as a Director of Sales or in National Sales within the hospitality industry preferred. Valid driver's license required. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build relationships with clients, General Managers, and revenue teams. Proven professional sales and business development skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning abilities. Proficiency in general computer applications and systems. Ability to work independently while managing multiple hotels, groups, and priorities simultaneously. Strong presentation skills and attention to detail. Advanced understanding of hospitality sales and marketing principles. Ability to remain composed and effective in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Willingness to travel regularly to assigned hotel properties.
