Job Description
Job Summary The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a crucial role in providing direct support and care to individuals with autism and other developmental disorders. This position involves implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT will work closely with clients to promote skill development, enhance communication, and improve overall quality of life through evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques. Responsibilities Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as directed by the supervising BCBA. Collect and record data on client progress and behaviors accurately and consistently. Assist clients in developing social, communication, and daily living skills. Educate clients and their families about behavioral strategies and interventions. Maintain medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure confidentiality of client information and adhere to all medical records protocols. Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Collaborate with special education staff and other professionals involved in the client's care. Skills Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and principles is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices is beneficial. Strong data collection skills to monitor client progress effectively. Ability to educate clients, families, and team members on behavioral strategies. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and caregivers. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to assist individuals in achieving their goals.
