Job Description

Category Schools - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support a middle school student through the rest of the academic year. This full-time, contract position offers 32-37.5 hours per week and is ideal for an experienced professional passionate about making a difference in a school-based setting. In this role, you will work 1:1 with a student diagnosed with autism who is currently exhibiting challenging behaviors such as eloping and inappropriate touching, potentially linked to trauma. Your background in trauma-informed care will be critical as you help create a safer and more supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required Previous experience working in a school setting strongly preferred Demonstrated expertise supporting students with autism spectrum disorder Training or familiarity with trauma-informed care principles Ability to remain calm and apply evidence-based strategies in crisis situations Strong communication and collaboration skills with school staff and families Commitment to professional ethics and maintaining confidentiality
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one behavioral support during the school day for the assigned student Implement individualized intervention plans as directed by a supervising BCBA or educational team Collect data and document behavior trends accurately Maintain open communication with educators, support staff, and families Adapt strategies responsively in collaboration with the team Potential extension for the Extended School Year (ESY) may be available, details to be confirmed. This position allows you to have a meaningful impact on a student's school experience during a critical time.
