Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of the practice. As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining high standards of infection control, and providing comprehensive support during dental procedures. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient chairside support. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessment and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Support administrative tasks such as dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records within Epic or similar systems. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Assist with medical imaging procedures and documentations related to medical coding for insurance or billing purposes. Ensure proper infection control practices are followed consistently across all clinical activities. Collaborate with the team to facilitate four-handed dentistry techniques that improve efficiency and patient comfort. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty practice such as pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics. Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to patient privacy and data security. Experience performing X-ray procedures, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technologies. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while supporting multiple procedures simultaneously. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and medical coding processes relevant to dental care. Excellent communication skills combined with a professional demeanor that fosters positive patient interactions.
