Job Description
Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic pediatric dental team, who will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care with a smile. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your clinical skills and expertise to provide thorough pediatric cleanings, take dental radiographs, and education our young patients and their families regarding oral healthcare, diet and nutrition. We strive to ensure a positive experience for every pediatric patient, so we can lead them into a life-time of good oral habits and healthy, happy smiles. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective treatment plans. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, proper diet and nutrition, and the importance of regular dental visits to promote long-term oral health. Capture and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Document all patient interactions, assessments, treatments, and medical records accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols essential for delivering safe patient care. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and record management. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and pediatric patient management. Ability to perform chairside prophylaxis and fluoride treatments efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Familiarity with dental office procedures, infection prevention practices, and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of hygiene. Excellent communication and chairside skills, deliver care in a kind and compassionate manner, and educate patients effectively.
