Position Summary The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the Agency's quality assurance program , patient medical records , and infection control program . This role also includes supervision of employees within the Quality Assurance (QA) Department and participation in nursing leadership activities. Essential Job Functions Quality Assurance & Compliance Coordinate and complete quarterly chart audits . Oversee the audit process for regulatory and Agency compliance . Identify problematic areas, evaluate findings, and implement resolutions through the QAPI process. Assist the Documentation Nurse as needed. Responsible for OBQI and OBQM reports. Participate in the nursing leadership on-call rotation related to clinical issues. Medical Records Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient medical records . Obtain information for regulatory surveys and ADR requests . Support the Agency through State and Federal Survey processes. Maintain accuracy and revisions of clinical forms as necessary. Responsible for and ensure OASIS compliance . Oversee the review, correction, and transmission of OASIS information. Coordinate storage and destruction of confidential documents according to policy. Infection Control Maintain and track employee exposure occurrences and ensure appropriate employee health and OSHA records are maintained. Review and update the Exposure Control Plan at least annually and whenever necessary to include new or modified tasks and procedures. Facilitate Agency infection control efforts through the Infection Control and QAPI processes. Supervision & Leadership Participate in the selection, hiring, and termination of staff. Demonstrate support for Agency policies and ensure staff compliance. Maintain current knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations . Conduct department meetings. Supervise employees by maintaining performance notes, completing performance evaluations on a timely basis, and initiating progressive disciplinary action as needed. Additional Functions Demonstrate commitment to Agency resolution against fraud and abuse . Remain knowledgeable in hospice philosophy and applicable state and federal rules and regulations. Arrive to work and meetings on time and ready to work. Respect confidentiality of patients/families and other Agency employees. Attend educational meetings/conferences for professional growth as required. View change as an opportunity and maintain flexibility in adapting to new ways of performing. Follow directions and policies that support working under time pressures without sacrificing quality. Perform other duties as may be assigned. Job Requirements Qualifications Maintains current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Indiana . Hospice experience required. Minimum of four (4) years' experience in quality assurance and certification (preferred). Experience with OASIS and ICD coding (preferred). Demonstrated supervisory experience . Strong organizational and communication skills .
