Registered Nurse, Hospice - Per Diem Saturdays

Registered Nurse, Hospice - Per Diem Nights East End Hospice is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Per Diem opportunity providing field home visits. Saturdays a must.

Responsibilities:

Make patient visits, such as admission, PRN visits & pronouncements. Teach, supervise, and counsel the patient and family regarding care and other issues related to the patient illness, including pain and symptom management. Provide anticipatory guidance to patients/families to assist them in preparing for and coping with the events as they occur throughout the disease process. Implement the nursing portion of the plan of care in coordination with the other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

Ability to relate well to terminally ill patients and their families. Ability to assess patient/family needs and to be sensitive to those needs. Willingness to function as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Be familiar with the hospice concept and related nursing issues. Experience with myUnity EMR Records a plus

Requirements:

A registered professional nurse from an accredited nursing program. Currently licensed to practice nursing in New York State. 2+ years of RN experience (Hospice, Med-Surg, Homecare experience) required. Experience with Electronic Medical Records a plus. 2 shifts per month, one summer and one winter holiday. Valid New York State driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance required for all positions. East End Hospice offers competitive salary and supportive working environment.

Pay:

$53.00 - $55.00 per hour
