Registered Nurse Pre-Op/PACU

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care before and after procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal recovery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Operative Assessment:

Conduct thorough patient interviews, review medical histories, and verify informed consent.

Preparation:

Initiate IVs, administer pre-operative medications, and prepare patients for endoscopic procedures.

PACU Recovery:

Monitor patients emerging from sedation/anesthesia by assessing vital signs, consciousness, pain levels, and airway patency.

Patient Education:

Provide clear, comprehensive pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients and their families.

Clinical Collaboration:

Coordinate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the rest of the nursing team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Documentation:

Accurately document patient status, interventions, and discharge criteria (e.g., Aldrete Scores) using electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

Current, unencumbered New York RN license. BLS and ACLS certifications required. Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care, PACU, or Endoscopy experience preferred. Strong critical thinking skills, excellent bedside manner, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Pay:

$46.00 - $51.00 per hour
