This contract position is set for the 2026/2027 school year, offering the chance to utilize your skills as the district's primary Certified School Nurse, working alongside a strong team of RNs.

Qualifications:

Active Professional Educator's License in Illinois with Certified School Nurse (CSN) Endorsement Current RN licensure in Illinois Experience in school nursing is preferred Strong capability in managing hearing and vision screenings Familiarity with updating IEPs and developing health care plans Ability to work independently as the sole CSN while collaborating with other nursing staff Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the district's main resource for all medical and health-related student matters Conduct hearing and vision screenings for compliance and student wellness Update and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Health Care Plans to ensure students receive necessary support Collaborate with fellow RNs to coordinate care and implement best practices across campuses Provide education and guidance to staff, students, and families regarding student health needs and protocols Respond to urgent health concerns and administer appropriate nursing interventions Maintain accurate records and adhere to state and federal regulations This role offers the satisfaction of being an integral advocate for student health, with the backing of a skilled nursing team.
