Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. This vital role involves overseeing clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants, to ensure high-quality patient care delivery. Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Oversee clinical procedures such as IV insertion, catheter care, tube feeding management, and ventilator support while ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Manage patient flow through triage processes, discharge planning, and utilization review to optimize resource use and patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA privacy standards, OSHA safety guidelines, and state-specific licensing requirements. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of medical records and coding (ICD-9/10) for billing purposes. Lead quality improvement initiatives by participating in audits, incident reporting, and implementing best practices aligned with NCQA standards. Requirements Valid RN license with current registration in the state of employment. Extensive experience in acute care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; critical care experience preferred. Proven supervisory or nurse management experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with medical documentation standards is essential. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), neonatal ventilator management, and dementia care. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is highly desirable. Ability to perform complex patient assessments involving vital signs evaluation, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation interpretation, and medication administration. Competence in performing sterile procedures such as phlebotomy, suturing, specimen collection/processing, and catheterization. Certification in basic life support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous. Excellent communication skills for effective team management and patient interaction; commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance at all times. $41.00 - $48.00 per hour
