Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Nurse Supervisor (PRN) to lead and oversee nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to supervise clinical staff, ensure high-quality patient care, and maintain compliance with healthcare standards. As a PRN supervisor, you will play a vital role in coordinating patient assessments, managing nursing workflows, and supporting team development across various care settings.   • 7:30 AM Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff to ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and NCQA standards.
Oversee patient care activities including assessments, vital signs, medication administration, IV infusions, and catheter care. Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration for complex cases involving acute care, geriatrics, behavioral health, or specialty units like ICU or trauma centers. Conduct clinical evaluations utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth to document medical records accurately and efficiently. Provide mentorship and supervision to nursing team members, fostering professional growth and maintaining high team morale. Participate in discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization. Ensure compliance with infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterile processing protocols during all patient interactions. Requirements Valid RN license with current registration; prior supervising or team management experience is essential. Extensive critical care experience including ICU, emergency medicine, or Level I/II trauma center exposure preferred. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation, and medication administration practices. Experience working with diverse populations including seniors in long-term care or assisted living environments; familiarity with dementia and Alzheimer's care is a plus. Ability to perform physical examinations, venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion, tube feeding management, and airway management techniques. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, family education, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
