Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Respiratory Therapist (RT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Valid state licensure as required for practice Demonstrated knowledge of respiratory care protocols, ventilator management, and oxygen therapy Experience with arterial blood gas analysis and respiratory equipment troubleshooting Strong communication skills for patient and interdisciplinary interaction BLS certification (ACLS preferred) Prior clinical experience in an acute care or hospital environment is highly valued
Responsibilities:
Assess patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans Administer therapeutic interventions, including aerosol treatments, chest physiotherapy, and airway management Operate, monitor, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ventilation systems Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize patient care strategies Educate patients and families on proper techniques for equipment use and disease management Ensure documentation is accurate and meets regulatory standards Respond promptly to emergency respiratory situations with calm, expert care
