Job Description
Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract Advance your career by providing expert respiratory care to neonates in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering essential respiratory therapy services within a Level 2 Special Care Nursery. Your expertise will directly contribute to exceptional outcomes for our smallest patients and their families.
Schedule and Hours:
Contract position with flexible scheduling (exact shifts will be confirmed during interview)Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Registered Respiratory Therapist with current credentials Proficiency in medicated aerosol therapy, including use of small volume nebulizers Experience educating patients on aerosol, MDI, and DPI therapy Familiarity with medication carts, Omnicell, and bar coding medication administration processes Skilled in suctioning, manual ventilation, intubation assistance, and assisted ventilation Competence in high risk delivery support and surfactant administration Knowledge of NRP protocol and T-piece ventilation Experience with intubation, blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation Ability to implement humidified therapy using heated humidity, aerosol masks, nasal cannula, and oxygen masksKey Responsibilities:
Deliver safe and effective neonatal respiratory therapy in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff Educate and support patients and families regarding therapy protocols and equipment Accurately handle medications, including preparation and administration, following safety protocols Respond swiftly to high-risk deliveries and provide specialized interventions as needed Maintain thorough, accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives Uphold strict infection control and patient safety standards You will work in a supportive multidisciplinary team, utilizing the latest technology and protocols to make a lasting impact.
