Job Description
Job Summary The Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) / Vascular Lab Technical Director (VLTD) plays a critical leadership role within the vascular practice by providing high-quality diagnostic vascular ultrasound imaging while overseeing the successful operation, accreditation, and growth of the vascular laboratory. This individual will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and operations leadership to ensure compliance with all IAC Standards and Guidelines, maintain excellence in patient care, support staff development, and contribute to the ongoing expansion of vascular laboratory services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, clinically strong, collaborative, organized, and experienced with IAC accreditation standards and survey preparation. NO weekends NO Call NO Bureaucracy Physician Led environment, and cooperation Direct Involvement in program growth Student Teaching opportunities, if desired, with additional compensation. Focus on quality studies, not quantity Schedule & Working Conditions Full-time available Hourly/non-exempt position Arrive 15 minutes prior to first scheduled patient Moderate physical effort required Frequent patient transfers and positioning assistance Frequent computer and EMR usage Moderate walking throughout clinic locations Frequent communication with patients and staff Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling Occasionally exposed to loud noise QualificationsRequired / Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree required ARDMS or CCI Registered in Vascular Sonography preferred Minimum one year of vascular ultrasound imaging experience preferred Current BLS/CPR certification Current ACLS certification Must meet IAC Technical Director qualifications, including: 100 cases per category Two years of post-RVT accreditation experience for training ultrasound students Strong analytical and organizational skills Detail-oriented with excellent clinical judgment Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment In good physical and mental health Key Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations of extracranial, visceral, and peripheral vascular systems in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and IAC standards Prepare and position patients for examinations while ensuring patient comfort and safety Review patient history and diagnostic orders for accuracy and appropriateness Accurately document findings and communicate results to physicians and clinical staff Maintain ultrasound equipment in clean, safe, and proper working condition Ensure finalized vascular reports are accurately imported into the EMR system Leadership & Technical Director Responsibilities Lead and maintain successful IAC accreditation efforts and ongoing compliance with IAC Standards and Guidelines Collaborate with the Medical Director on strategic planning and future growth of the vascular laboratory Maintain and update the Vascular Laboratory Manual Review vascular laboratory examinations and reports for technical accuracy and completeness Ensure all protocols are approved by the Medical Director and supported by current published data Provide onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing education for vascular laboratory staff Serve as a technical and clinical resource for RVTs and other team members Monitor scheduling workflows, PACS/EMR discrepancies, and operational efficiencies Communicate equipment issues, operational concerns, and departmental needs to leadership Participate in quality improvement initiatives and operational planning Additional Responsibilities Maintain organized examination rooms, procedure rooms, and common work areas Manage vascular laboratory supplies and inventory Promote continuity of care through professional collaboration with physicians, APPs, nurses, and administrative staff Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care Adhere to all HIPAA, professional, ethical, and organizational standards Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who: Has strong experience with IAC accreditation and survey readiness Enjoys leadership and mentoring staff Is passionate about vascular ultrasound quality and excellence Thrives in a collaborative, physician-led environment Wants to help grow a progressive outpatient vascular practice About Us Hill Vascular & Vein Center is a growing, physician-owned outpatient vascular surgery practice and accredited Office-Based Lab (OBL) located in Campbell, California. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) to serve as our Vascular Lab Technical Director. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who enjoys leadership, quality improvement, accreditation management, and helping grow a modern vascular laboratory program.
