Position Summary:
The Registrar is responsible for the accurate collection of patient demographics, insurance information, and clinical data. This role ensures high-quality data entry into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) while facilitating the collection of patient payments and providing superior customer service.
Essential Duties:
Patient Registration:
Collect and verify demographic and insurance information for all patient types; ensure all data entered into the EMR is accurate.
Chart Preparation:
Print necessary labels and forms, and assemble patient charts prior to scheduled appointments.
Documentation:
Scan patient records and clinical documentation into the system.
Financial Responsibilities:
Issue receipts for payments (cash, check, or credit card), reconcile anesthesia payments with logs, and balance the daily cash drawer.
Reporting:
Submit reconciled payments, end-of-day balance sheets, and transaction reports to cash posters.
Customer Service:
Provide courteous, timely, and accurate service to all patients and visitors.
Compliance:
Ensure all processes maintain compliance with regulatory agency standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
Training or coursework in business office activities, computer skills, and medical terminology.
Experience:
Previous medical receptionist experience is preferred.
Skills:
Strong typing and computer proficiency, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Professionalism:
Must maintain a professional demeanor with strong ethical and moral principles.
