Job Description

Rehabilitation Tech Basic Function The Rehabilitation Tech assists the therapists and assistants with patient related activities and direct patient treatment under therapist supervision. Refer to Medicare regulations and state law for definition of direct supervision. The Rehabilitation Tech may assist with treatments only when under the direct supervision of a therapist and will adhere to the Allegiant Values of high-quality care and ethics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist the therapist and assistant in clerical and patient, client, team member related duties
  • Participate in Department and facility meetings as assigned
  • Perform clerical work as directed including computerized activities
  • Assist with treatments as directed by the therapist
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and team-building approach with all patients, clients and team members
  • Transport patients as scheduled to and from treatment areas
  • Prepare patients for treatment
  • Assist patients, clients, team members with issues or needs
  • Participate in facility performance improvement programs
  • Perform other duties as requested
  • Reporting any unusual incidents to the DOR
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the treatment areas and department
  • Assist with maintaining an adequate stock of supplies and equipment
  • Maintains appropriate records for patient programs provided
EXPOSURE RISK
The Rehabilitation Tech is at high risk for expos[ure to blood and body fluids
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Reports to the Director of Rehab or Direct Supervising Therapist during patient assistance
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate CNA Certificate if required by State Law
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in patient/resident care in a nursing center, hospital or rehabilitation Center preferred therapy students will be considered.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Works in well lighted/ventilated office and therapy areas
  • Sitting, standing, bending, lifting and moving intermittently during work hours
  • Subject to frequent interruptions
  • Involved with patients/residents, family members, personnel, etc.,under all conditions and circumstances
  • Subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients/residents, family members etc
  • Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel and other department supervisors
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions when necessary
  • Must be constantly alert for patients/residents' safety
  • Subject to falls, burns from equipment, infectious disease, odors, etc throughout the workday
  • Subject to lifting, carrying and supporting patients/resident's
  • Mobile phone use is only permitted during breaks and non-paid allocated lunch times.
Phones should be kept on vibrate at all times.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Completion of on-the-job orientation and training program Be fully covid vaccinated
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to move (walk, stoop, bend, stand, sit, push and lift) intermittently throughout the workday
  • Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Must Possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with patients, clients, families and team members
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally and upset and al time hospital people within the facility
  • Must be able to lift patients/resident's, medical equipment, supplies, etc to 50lbs
