To perform the duties necessary to complete renovations of apartments and cottages by an assigned deadline. Keep the physical structure and associated equipment of Rockhill in good repair. Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical repairs and other duties relating to renovations are the primary duties.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Report to Renovations Manager for daily specific job assignments. Perform job responsibilities as assigned by the Renovations Manager while maintaining a safe work environment. Maintain equipment, tools and material stock as assigned by Renovations Manager. Assist other maintenance personnel and/or the Director of Maintenance in projects when requested. Share in the primary and back-up "on call" time coverage during the week on a bi-weekly basis. On call responsibilities are subject to change. Assist in the tasks of outside maintenance involving snow removal, ground care, etc. Remove snow from pavements and doorways in Nursing so that the entrances/exits are never blocked. Report to Director of Maintenance and/or Renovations Manager any immediate maintenance problem, area of concern, hazardous situation, or observation needing maintenance attention. Complete room turnovers accurately and efficiently by the assigned deadline, including any punch lists and accompanying paperwork. Communicate effectively with Director of Maintenance, Renovations Manager, Move-In Coordinator, contractors, vendors, and residents. Complete a material list needed for renovation and submit it for purchasing. Receive and keep an inventory of supplies needed to complete renovations. Serve as utility person for the Community, being available for errands, chauffeur, etc. Attend in service training programs and all required meetings. Observe infection control procedures where necessary. Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times. Follow facility safety programs and familiar with MDS. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. Assume accountability for data contained in the employees' handbook. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner. Perform other related duties as directed by the Director of Maintenance or Renovations Manager. Lock doors and assure nighttime security for all apartments or cottages under renovation. Adheres to the Values and Expectations statement and element of the compliance program. Assume other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as directed. Position RequirementsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS

Two (2) years previous maintenance or renovation experience in a retirement community or similar organizationPreferred:
Four (4) years previous maintenance or renovation experience in a retirement community or similar organizationProfessional Memberships, Licensures, Certifications:
Preferred:
HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical certificationLanguage Ability:
This individual must be able to speak and read the English language in an understandable manner in order to communicate with residents, employees, family members, volunteers and the public. Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from residents and the general public.Math Ability:
Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Computer Skills:
The employee must have basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.WORK ENVIRONMENT
