Rental Operations Technician

Rental Operations Technician Rig Source LLC - Elburn, IL Rig Source is looking for a hands-on individual to support our rental and service operations. This role is ideal for a former driller, assistant driller, or field technician looking for a more stable schedule while staying involved with drilling equipment and the industry. This position plays a critical role in our rental process by performing equipment inspections, assisting mechanics, helping coordinate equipment movement, and ensuring rental units are ready for customers.

Responsibilities:

Perform rental equipment check-ins and check-outs on drill rigs and support equipment Inspect incoming and outgoing rental equipment for damage, wear, and missing components Document machine condition using inspection software and photos Assist mechanics and service technicians with minor repairs and maintenance Help load and unload drill rigs, tooling, and support equipment Coordinate with the rental and service teams to keep equipment ready for customers Perform basic troubleshooting and operational checks on equipment Maintain organization and cleanliness of the yard and shop areas Support transportation and logistics efforts as needed

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience operating or working around drill rigs Former driller or assistant driller strongly preferred Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hydraulic equipment Comfortable operating forklifts, skid steers, and other yard equipment Ability to identify equipment issues and communicate clearly with technicians Experience towing or securing equipment is a plus
