Reporter

Reporter We seek a Part time general assignment reporter to cover the Vandalia area. Assignments will include city council, school board, business, and community events.

Responsibilities:

Pitch, edit and write multiple news stories each week Conduct interviews in-person and over the phone Supplement stories with photos Work under deadline Synthesis material from multiple sources Shift work hours to attend weekend or after-work events Represent the newspaper in a professional manner A journalism degree and some experience is preferred, but not required. Any candidate with excellent writing and photography skills is encouraged to apply. Please submit three writing samples with job application.

Pay:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
