POB programs address vision health equity in the D.C. Metropolitan community.

Job Summary:

The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington's Look Again Resale Shop in Kensington, MD seeks a part-time retail/resale associate to join our team. This position is a hands-on team role that requires flexibility, initiative, and strong customer service skills. Job Location:

Kensington, MD Work schedule: 20 hours per week Hourly rate range : $17.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

Welcome and assist customers/donors as they enter the shop. Provide excellent customer service and create a positive shopping experience. Sorts merchandise and determine salability. Must be available to work weekends Prices merchandise in accordance with our quality standards. Works with volunteers to make sure store is well-stocked, clean, organized, and has attractive displays. Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

• Patience when dealing with difficult customers.
• Operates point -of-sale (POS) system, and handle payments
• Follow store polices related to sales, customers service, and store operations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

US citizen HS Diploma or high 1+ year of retail / resale store experience Experience using a computerized cash register (Square cash register) Valid driver's license in the metro area (DC, MD, VA) Reliable transportation to work Must be available to work 20 hours per week Must be available to work weekends Ability to understand & follow directions Professional appearance and demeanor required Able to prioritize and work in a fluid and fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills Strong level of professionalism Basic reasoning and problem-solving skills Basic math skills Excellent organizational and communication skills Team-oriented, friendly and enjoy meeting goals Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift 50 lbs., bend, stoop, reach, push and carry items as needed.

Pay:

$17.00 per hour
