Research Coordinator, Department of Psychology The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia United States, Virginia, Charlottesville 1215 Lee Street (Show on map) May 06, 2026 The Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for a Research Coordinator. The University of Virginia Department of Psychology strives to advance the science, the methodology and the application of psychology through research, teaching, graduate training, and engagement in our community. Specifically, we are committed to: Conducting rigorous collaborative research aimed at understanding the human condition, solving societal problems, and generating breakthrough discoveries; Using our scholarship to guide practice, policy, education, and future research; Teaching and mentoring the next generation of psychological scientists and psychologically-literate citizens and leaders; and Practicing open communication and transparency in our methods, and conducting ourselves according to the highest ethical standards. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to provide overall coordination of the UVA undergraduate initiative, Hoos Connected. Provide support to 20 to 50 ongoing Hoos Connected groups at a time, including provision of written materials, coordination of extra bonuses for participation (participant incentives) Coordinate with Residence Life and Arts & Sciences to assure adequate space is available for both groups and supervision Assist in the supervision of undergraduate facilitators leading groups Manage Hoos Connected student Executive Board, coordinating their activities to meet the overall goals of the program Manage social media presence of the program Manage the logistics of enrollment and creation of groups for Hoos Connected, including placing 300+ students into groups and assigning 50+ facilitators to intervention and supervision groups based on scheduling constraints and interpersonal considerations Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in a related field` required Preferred Qualifications B.S. in Psychology or Child Development Experience using statistical software, working with complex research designs, coding observational data Experience coordinating complex projects involving coordinating efforts of multiple entities in a University context Salary Range Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
