Duties & Responsibilities:
The Residence Manager is responsible for overall functioning and oversight of assigned programs. This position's specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the subsequent items and are characterized in the following five standards of performance, defined as below: Programming/Scheduling The Residence Manager's schedule is typically Monday- Friday 8am to 4:30pm however is subject to change based on the program/workload needs and may include day, evening, overnight, weekend and holiday hours. Serve on 24-hour Residence Manager On-Call rotation and when on-call maintain coverage of all programs. Specific work schedule and work site placement will be determined by program needs and will be assigned by the Director- Residential Services, VP-Programs or EMT member. This position may require travel or transfer between programs. Approved transportation with personal vehicles is reimbursable at the per mile rate set by IRS guidelines. Mileage, from a regularly assigned place of work to a temporarily assigned place of work can be submitted for reimbursement. Maintain an acceptable work attendance as defined in the agency's Employee Manual. Supervision of employees Participates in the screening and/or interviewing employee applicants and makes recommendations for hire. Responsible for payroll associated activities including timecard sign off & approving PTO requests. Directly supervises Assistant Residence Managers and Residential Aides in the performance of their respective responsibilities and job duties; assist or ensure training needs are met; maintaining communication and documentation with staff regarding work performance. Responsible for creating and maintaining staff schedule to ensure appropriate coverage of assigned programs. Completes staff evaluations per agency schedule and policy. Conducts regular staff meetings. General Program Oversight/Documentation/Record Keeping Performs, participates in, supervises, and assists with routine Life Plan meetings, development and the implementation of ISP and SAP plans as well as maintaining IPOP's. Conduct clinical and administrative reviews of Habilitation Plans, monthly notes, and Medicaid billing to ensure that the plans meet agency and regulatory requirements. Conducts or participates in case conference with staff and/or other service providers, as needed. Confers, on a regular schedule, with supervisors, case managers and guardians regarding health and safety issues, skill development and all other pertinent information or issues. Provides appropriate first aid in accordance with accepted first aide practices. Follows all regulations, policies and procedures as dictated by OPWDD, the Agency and any other regulatory body. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Promoting Person Centered Living Foster and promote skills leading to independent living for all individuals through choice and self-determination. Uphold the Mission, Values and Vision of ACHIEVE Responsible for training DSPs to explore quality of life outcomes for people receiving services, surrounding issues involving choice, health, safety, social capital, relationships, rights, goals, dreams, employment and implementing best practices to support individuals to accomplish outcomes. Continue to pursue available education, training and up to date knowledge of person-centered practices for the Residence Manager position. Teamwork Encourage and maintain a positive working relationship with all departments in the agency, parents, staff, individuals supported, and community partners while expecting the same from direct report staff Communicate all health, safety, consumer and/or program concerns, sensitive situations, and incidents to supervisor. Attend and participate in all required and/or requested departmental or agency meetings. Documentation Complete required documentation in conformance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures and billing practices Perform documentation reviews to ensure records are maintained in conformance with rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and billing practices. Compliance & Accountability Identify and report and untoward incidents and completion of related documentation and investigatory summaries. Submit maintenance requests for repairs. Identify, report, and/or correct all safety hazards including physical plant problems and/or problem work practices and assist with investigating all work-related accidents as requested. Participate in any investigations as required. Comply with all State and Federal regulations along with agency policies and practices. May be exposed to communicable diseases; exposure within the Residential and Day Habilitation Program is closely monitored. General precautions can greatly reduce the risk of exposure to infectious agents in the workplace, and employees/visitors should always follow appropriate universal precautions. Training & Development Ensure employees receive the required agency and/or state mandated training (First, Aid, CPR, SCIP, etc.) Obtain and maintain required training certifications that include: First Aid, CPR, SCIP, etc. Attend all required training, staff development programs, committees and staff meetings as required by the agency and/or State and Federal regulations.Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree with 3 years' experience working in an OPWDD or similar Human Services settings. -OR- A combination of education and experience that in the opinion of the agency, exceeds this standard.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possess good analytical, interpersonal, written, oral and communication abilities and effective time management/organizational skills. Able to work scheduled hours that may include overtime, weekend and/or holiday timeframes and maintain acceptable work attendance a defined in the agency's personnel policy manual and handbook. Be computer literate with knowledge in agency operating systems and applicable software required for departmental needs. Able to generate and present comprehensive written reports and respond to questions about the report. Demonstrate sound judgment in normal work and emergency situations. Must physically be able to perform required certifications and lift fifty (50) pounds. Possess a valid driver's license acceptable to the agency's insurance carrier guidelines.
