Resident Advisor - Residential Behavioral Health (2nd Shift)

Position Summary:

Performs duties to maintain a safe and secure setting for clients and staff within a residential program setting. Ensures client needs are met and program protocols are followed at all times.

Position Description:

Monitor activities to ensure program guidelines are followed and appropriate client care is providedMake periodic rounds of buildings/grounds to ensure safety, security and optimal facility operationsAssist clients and peers in making appropriate decisionsDeliver on-going oversight of client activityComplete accurate and timely documentation utilizing designated softwareRespond to emergencies or incidents through conflict resolution and crisis management techniquesPerform routine non-clinical intake duties as requiredRecognize behavior changes and monitor client movementOperate vehicle to transport clients as requiredOther duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Effective verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate level problem-solving skills and ability to multi-taskEffective use of computer and basic data management for record-keeping purposesBasic conflict resolution/crisis management skills and techniquesDriving if required by program

Job Requirements:

High School Graduate or high school equivalency0-2 years of experience

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

Positional:

Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Frequent standing and walking. Occasional sitting.

Gross Mobility:

Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Frequent to constant reaching and handling.

May require ability to walk up to 4 flights of stairs consecutively, depending on location.

Sensory:

Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent to constant talking/communicating. Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer.
